Research

We are an action research center, investigating students’ lived experiences with basic needs insecurity and evaluating interventions.

We have studied racial disparities in basic needs security among college students during the COVID-19 pandemic, documented the challenges of parenting while in college, and catalogued what works for improving student mental health.

Today we're evaluating the impact of transportation supports (stay tuned for our findings!), identifying supports for students in STEM, examining the reach and use of federal grants helping colleges to address student basic needs, and investigating how to expand access to mental health care for community college students.

Our briefs and reports are housed under Publications.
