Bryce McKibben is the Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy at The Hope Center for Student Basic Needs at Temple University. Prior to joining Hope, from 2015 to 2022, he was the Senior Policy Advisor for the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) under Senator Patty Murray (D-WA). In that role, he served as higher education lead and handled issues such as college affordability, financial aid eligibility, student debt, and consumer protection.
Before joining the HELP Committee, Bryce was a Policy Analyst for the Association of Community College Trustees, and a Staff Assistant for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and Labor
Originally a student advocate, Bryce is the past President of the Washington Student Association and Director of Government Relations for the Associated Students of the University of Washington. Today, he regularly advises federal agencies, Members of Congress, and state legislatures on policies to improve student access and success.
Bryce has been featured frequently in major media outlets, such as CNN, Inside Higher Ed, Marketplace, The New York Times, NPR, Politico, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and The Washington Post.
Bryce holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School. He currently resides in Washington State.
