States have a significant role to play in eliminating student basic needs insecurity. Leaders, policymakers, and advocates are pursuing state policies, programs, and practices that help students secure their basic needs as part of efforts to advance educational attainment, workforce development, and economic mobility.

The Hope Center has worked alongside numerous state partners to conduct statewide research, engage key constituencies, identify opportunities, develop policy recommendations, craft strategic communications, cultivate partnerships, support implementation, and move ideas to action.

We also support collaborations across states — helping to share learnings, scale what works well, and build momentum nationwide.

Our state and regional partnerships are grounded in a simple belief: data matters most when it leads somewhere.
