Building on our work in Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Texas, and elsewhere, we are creating a compendium of recommendations and lessons learned to support states as they begin to explore the legislative, policy, and other statewide, systemic actions they can take to eliminate basic needs insecurity as a barrier to students’ educational attainment.
This compendium will provide guidance on creating effective project processes; engaging a diverse, inclusive range of experts and audiences; and developing equitable, attainable, and impactful recommendations. Our aim is to provide insights that are informed by the specifics of our work in the aforementioned states yet adaptable to other state and/or higher education system contexts.
